GBB Gesellschaft für berufliche Bildung |
|
gbb Gesellschaft für berufliche Bildung Pty. Ltd. is a company for commercial education and has been founded in 1993. gbb is a state recognised, private and non-profit organisation. The main aim is to provide vocational training for disadvantaged young people in the trade fields of wood- and metalworking, sales, trades and logistics, computing, administration and commerce. Currently there are 4 training centres in operation. They are located in the western part of Germany in the townships of Solingen, Remscheid, Leverkusen and Cologne, where more than 500 students are trained annually. gbb is also engaged in counselling and coaching of jobless people as well as in advanced vocational training and is currently employing more than 100 fulltime teachers, trainers and social workers. There is a longstanding experience in co-operation with schools and vocational training centres internationally and particularly in Europe. In previous years gbb took part in European initiatives and mobility programs such as Horizon, Youthstart, Socrates, Leonardo and Grundtvig. gbb is located in the so-called „Bergisch Land“ area with the cities of Solingen, Remscheid and Wuppertal. This region is characterised/marked by a fast structural change in the economy: away from technical or industrial production in small metal processing/working enterprises, towards companies providing services. This change goes along with an above average percentage of unemployment (e.g. 11,4% in Wuppertal in comparison to 8,1% in average). This development especially affects people disadvantaged by the employment market like people with low qualifications, migrants, women and elderly people. According to this gbb particularly offers training courses to learners with special needs such as school leavers, permanently unemployed persons, women who want to return to their jobs following a period of unemployment and people with migration background and lack of adequate German language skills. gbb expects new incentives for the integration of learners with special needs into the labour market from this learning partnership. It expects new approaches to care about unemployed people in the community and make them fit to find job. |
